Group Description

Arise and Renew is a compassionate, structured group therapy space designed for individuals on the path to recovery from substance use and addiction. The group provides a supportive environment where participants can explore challenges, build accountability, strengthen coping skills, and develop practical strategies for sustainable recovery.

The group is facilitated by Michelle Asmussen, a seasoned behavioral health professional with nearly a decade of experience in substance use treatment, peer support, workforce development, and justice-involved recovery services. Since entering the field in 2016, Michelle has worked across residential and outpatient settings, serving individuals navigating substance use disorders, reentry after incarceration, co-occurring mental health needs, and complex life transitions.

Michelle holds a degree in Human Services with a concentration in Substance Use and is currently pursuing graduate-level studies. Her professional background includes roles as a primary therapist, recovery mentor, program director, and peer supervisor. She brings a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approach grounded in evidence-based practices, motivational interviewing, and lived-experience-informed care.

Group sessions emphasize connection, accountability, skill-building, and real-world application. Michelle’s facilitation style is warm, structured, and practical, creating a space where participants feel respected, supported, and empowered to move forward in their recovery journey.

This group meets weekly, offering consistent and accessible support for individuals seeking growth, healing, and long-term stability from the comfort of their own space.
